A success story of e-Krishok farmer…

Ratan Miah, a small-scale farmer of Tarakandi village from Pakundia upazilla under Kishorganj district, cultivates potato and teasel gourd. Now a member of e-krishok, he is planning to increase his overall production this year. He used to collect information regarding agriculture related problems from respecting Sub Assistant Agriculture Officer (SAAO) and the upazilla agriculture office personnel before.
Prior to the e-krishok intervention Ratan Miah experienced loss of 10-15 monds of crops each year. He was growing frustrated day by day due to his mounting losses over the years. But now, after being a member of e-Krishok, he has managed to overcome from that loss and has also been able to increase his production.

The increase in the production can be attributed to e-Krishok service. By employing e-Krishok advisory service, he has been able to reduce verticillium wilt and leaf curl disease, which infested almost his entire cultivated area.
Finally Ratan Miah was relieved. “Now I am happy and managed to secure Tk 25000-30000 yearly profits from the same 60 decimal of land,” he said while talking to e-krishok correspondent.
